of 5— Generate a clean mockup environment

What you'll accomplish

By the end of this guide, you'll be able to generate photorealistic mockup environments — coffee cups, tote bags, building signage, business cards — using Midjourney, then place your actual logo or design on top in Photoshop. Your client presentations will look dramatically more intentional and polished, and you'll have access to infinite mockup scenarios beyond what any template library offers.

What you'll need

  • Midjourney account ($10/mo Basic or $30/mo Standard)
  • Discord account (to use Midjourney)
  • Adobe Photoshop (for compositing your logo onto generated mockups)
  • Time needed: 30 minutes setup, 20–30 minutes per mockup set after that
  • Cost: $10–30/mo for Midjourney + Creative Cloud subscription for Photoshop

How-To Guide: Creating Photorealistic Brand Mockups with Midjourney

Step 1: Generate a clean mockup environment

The key to compositing logos onto AI-generated mockups is generating blank or neutral versions of the surface first.

  1. Open Midjourney (discord or midjourney.com/imagine).
  2. Use prompts that describe a product or surface WITH a blank, neutral, or white area where your design will go:
    Copy and paste this
/imagine white matte coffee cup on marble counter, morning light, product photography, blank surface for logo placement, studio quality --ar 1:1

  3. Generate and review four options. Look for: clean background, good lighting, neutral area suitable for logo placement.

What you should see: Product images with plain or simple surfaces where you can composite your design.
